Takatu Hub

Takatu Hub serves as a public health call center—a lifeline—for whānau facing urgent health concerns. Whether it’s COVID-19, flu, or respiratory illnesses, our team of local registered nurses, health professionals, and mataora are here to guide you. What we offer COVID-19 Support: Get advice and guidance related to COVID-19. General Health Advice: Have non-urgent health questions? We’re here to help. Navigating the Health System: Need assistance finding support? We’ve got you covered. Connected to GP practises and can advocate on your behalf. Manaaki Support: From kai (food) to health supplies, we’re committed to your well-being. Psychosocial Service - FOSAL - Future Of Severely Affected Land. Immediate response to distress - cyclone, weather, heat impacts. Phone - Takatu: 0800 TAKATU (0800 825 288) Psychosocial: 0800 115 080 Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 4:30pm.
Te Waharoa
Te Waharoa is the gateway for whānau in distress seeking guidance to access the appropriate support (this includes, if required referral to other services). It is a partnership between TKNT and Te Whatu Ora Tairawhiti to provide a support service for whānau in distress with an open-door policy and an immediate response. Referrals are accepted from all sources – You can ask for help for yourself, whānau or be referred by their GP or another service, including Schools.
Te Awa
Te Awa is a partnership between TKNT, Hauora Tairāwhiti, and the Police. The main objective of Te Awa is to increase whānau access to alcohol and other drug services and support at critical points of contact with Police and Justice, and Health and Social Services. TKNT are part of a team that provide an urgent response to referrals from Police Custody, Emergency departments, Justice, and other critical referral sources.
