Te Waharoa
Te Waharoa is the gateway for whānau in distress seeking guidance to access the appropriate support (this includes, if required referral to other services). It is a partnership between TKNT and Te Whatu Ora Tairawhiti to provide a support service for whānau in distress with an open-door policy and an immediate response. Referrals are accepted from all sources – You can ask for help for yourself, whānau or be referred by their GP or another service, including Schools.
Te Awa
Te Awa is a partnership between TKNT, Hauora Tairāwhiti, and the Police. The main objective of Te Awa is to increase whānau access to alcohol and other drug services and support at critical points of contact with Police and Justice, and Health and Social Services. TKNT are part of a team that provide an urgent response to referrals from Police Custody, Emergency departments, Justice, and other critical referral sources.
