Relay For Life
In March 2024 our dedicated team stepped into the circle of hope as we united in the Relay for Life! Together, we be laced up our sneakers and took strides towards a brighter future in the fight against cancer. From the first lap to the last, our team embodied the spirit of unity, mana, and compassion as we walked alongside survivors, caregivers, supporters and whanau. With each step, we honoured those we've lost, celebrate the victories, and pledge to keep pushing forward.
2023
Sports Teams
In 2023 our team embarked on a new journey, a journey of hauora. We hit the court for some exhilarating twilight netball action and we took the field for some fast-paced touch rugby - a first for many of us. We are more than Mataora, we are a tight-knit squad that thrives on teamwork. We're all about bonding, pushing each other to new heights on and off the playing field/courts, and supporting each other as we stepped out of our confort zones. With quick passes, strategic plays, and fierce determination, we dominated the playing zone while fostering camaraderie and healthy competition. We combinded both sports during the Pacific Community Sports Day held by Turanga Health at Ilminister Intermidiate School.
Fight For Life
Cheyne and Tepu, our fearless warriors that were on a mission in the Turanga Fight for Life 2023! Beyond the confines of our workplace, both Cheyne and Tepu stepped into the ring, ready to tackle the challenge head-on for a cause close to their heart. With unwavering determination and boundless courage, they trained tirelessly to make a difference in the fight against their opponents. As they prepared to face opponents in the ring, we stood proudly beside them, cheering on their journey with unwavering support.
Te Kunenga o Te Ao Tikanga
Under the watchful eyes of Koka Janine - Te Wanaga o Aoteaora, our Mataora embarked on a journey of whakapapa, a journey of learning and nurturing our taonga tuku iho. - Nei ra te mihi ki a koe Koka Janine for taking us under your wing and sharing your matauranga with us.
Congratulations to our exceptional Mataora for successfully completing Te Kunenga o Te Ao Tikanga Lv4! Through dedication and passion we've obtained the intricate techniques of raranga, honouring generations of tikanga. Our journey reflects not only personal groth but also a deeper connection to our Te Ao Maori. Ka mau te wehi!
